Crafty day

So, today my mom and I were super crafty and built these awesome, super duper pictures at her relief society meeting thing. She did the SLC one because that's where her and my dad got sealed and I did the Timpanogos. They turned out so pretty! We painted the frame pieces and then stapled them together (that's right we BUILT the frames!) and then we glued the picture to this board and put some cool texture stuff on it and then stapled that to the frame. They look so awesome! I didn't realize how big they were (turned long-wise, they are about the length of my arms extended) but I'm so excited about it! I think this will definitely replace my small temple picture in our room. I just wish I had more space to hang it in our living room! Maybe it's time to do a little redecorating...!

Boring

So we've had internet all night (which is like a miracle...we steal it from somewhere ha) and I've been catching up on everyone's blogs and mine seems so boring! That is the conclusion that I came to tonight. So I decided to put up pictures! They are from a while ago but that's ok. The first are from when we went out with my grandparents to the Desert Star Theater. It was so fun! We saw "Twilite: When I was a Teenage Vampire." Very funny. We ended up buying season tickets (not as expensive as you would think!) So I'm excited for some fun dates coming up this year! The others are when we went out with some friends to SLC. We wanted to see the lights and we all thought that they kept them up for a week past new years, but apparently we were wrong! so we just walked around and then went to dinner at this Brazilian grill that was so freaking tasty.
So, to catch up with my life, I'm now working full-time and no school! All my wonderful sounding plans have not quite happened. I thought "Oh great, no school! I can sew and scrapbook and learn to cook and it will be great!" WRONG! I have only cooked one good meal (Parmesan chicken-super tasty. And thanks for the recipe ideas! When I get back on my cooking kick, I want to cook Miranda's soup and McKenna's Tilapia! Derrick was excited about the mango), and I haven't sewn at ALL! or scrapbooked! Working three twelves a week takes so much out of me! It almost takes an entire day just to recover. And then on the other days I'm cleaning house, catching up on running, grocery shopping and running errands. Plus I have the residency class on thursdays at the hospital and that takes up most of the day too. I'm just as busy as I was in nursing school! Oh well I'll get used to these shifts sooner or later!

So, I'm sitting here being lazy and putting off running by catching up on facebook and my blog! It's so pathetic how awful I am at blogging! But I am not going to school anymore so I hope that I can be better! I am working full-time though which means I am working three twelve's in a row. No fun because all I feel like I do those three days is work and sleep but then I have four days off so that's nice!
More good news...I PASSED BOARDS! I took my test last week on January 20th and I got all 265 questions! It was awful...I started at 1:30 and didn't finish until 4:45! I thought for sure I didn't pass. When the screen popped up for my two hour break I thought that there was a possibility that I was done but when I saw I wasn't, I seriously started to cry and went into the bathroom and cried! But I finished and I found out the next night at like nine thirty that I passed!! The proof is on the DOPL website baby! You can go check out my name and behind it there is RN!! I was so happy.
So, I watched Julie and Julia last week and it made me want to cook a lot of yummy food. I need to learn how to be a better cook. I have like six different cookbooks that I don't even use at all. I need to learn to use them! On the show they cooked this really yummy french stew thing and it looked so tasty! So, anyone who wants to learn to cook then you should watch that movie because it will inspire you to cook! Any ideas of what I should try to cook tomorrow?

catching up!

So...I've decided I'm the WORST blogger ever!!! I need to keep up with stuff. But a lot has happened! I GRADUATED! I'm finally done with nursing school! This last year and a half has probably been the worst and the best of my life. It was so hard, but it feels good to be done. Like I accomplished something big time! But, I only have my associate's of nursing, so I will be getting my BSN as soon as I get into a stupid program! I just want to get started and get done!
We also decorated for Christmas! It was fun to put up our tree. I bought a ton of ornaments and made colorful stockings, so now our tree looks like a Dr. Suess tree! It's all bright and colorful. I'm so excited for Christmas! It's my second favorite holiday (after Halloween, of course!) I love shopping for presents and picking out the perfect gift for people! I think I have most of my shopping done! I just have a few more things to get for Derrick and then I'm finished!

a lot of happenings

so this last week or so a lot has happened; it was my birthday (big 23 baby!), it was Halloween (my fave holiday of all time), and my sweetie and I were married for 2 years! So a lot of big things. I can't believe that I spent the entire last year of my life in nursing school. Two birthdays and two anniversaries in nursing school; kinda sad but what can ya do! Derrick spoiled me. I came home and he had blown up balloons and put a happy birthday sign in the living room! We had the family over for cake and ice cream, which was fun. My sister in law made a comment like I was too old for "birthday parties," but I say, no kids so I still get to celebrate!! for Halloween we dressed up as pebbles and bambam and then went to my parents to watch a scary movie!! no big plans for us! But it was still fun to dress up and answer the door. for our anniversary we went to the Anniversary Inn in SLC to spend a night. it was fun to just get away and spend time together. we are planning on a mini-trip in December when neither of us are in school. That's what we get for getting married in the middle of the semester!

I now have a blog; how 'bout that

I really don't know what to do with this...I'm pretty sure that it will take me a long time to figure this out and that I won't write very much at first, but we shall see! I want to figure out how to put pictures up, because they are fun! I also think that I need to steal Miranda's idea and take pictures of my house, especially because I have so many cute Halloween decorations! I need to clean it first...oh well! But here are my decorations!
